Quintessentially Presents: FELA ON BROADWAY, The Award Winning Musical Broadway Makes its way to Lagos, Nigeria

 

 

 

 

Quintessentially Nigeria is thrilled to be a part of the first Broadway show in West Africa; as the official concierge provider for all international guests. 

FELA! Is the true story of the legendary Nigerian musician Fela Kuti, whose soulful Afrobeat rhythms ignited a generation.
Inspired by his mother, a civil rights champion, he defied a corrupt and oppressive military government and devoted his life and music to the struggle for freedom and human dignity.
FELA! Is a triumphant tale of courage, passion and love, featuring Fela Kuti's captivating music and the visionary direction and choreography of Tony-Award winner Bill T.Jones.

FELA!, the landmark Broadway musical, which won three Tony Awards (Broadway’s highest honor) including Best Choreography (Bill T. Jones), is coming to Lagos from April 20^th to 25^th.  It will be performed at the prestigious Eko Hotel’s New Expo Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. This critically lauded musical will star its original Broadway cast with Sahr Ngaujah reprising his Tony-nominated role of Fela Kuti with music provided by the internationally renowned Antibalas as well as other members of the New York City Afro-beat community.

DONALD ONUOHA was born in Lagos, and studied art at the Institute of Management Technology, Enugu. His works have featured in the World Bank Art Exhibition in New York, Minaj Talent, Obosi, Talent of Palette Lagos, Emerging Culture Abuja, Donald and Ayoola Signature Gallery Lagos, Abstract Artistic License, Time and Places City Mall Lagos, and Generational Statement Abuja, among others.

OSAGIE AIMUFIA is a product of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi. A multiple award winner, the recipient of the overall best student in School of Art & Design, 1993 class. Osagie did a stint in the Fine Art Department of Federal College of Education Kumbotso, Kano State. He is a member of the Society of Nigerian Artist (SNA), and a founding member of Iponri Studios.
